We live in Sopchoppy, FL and we’re on our way to Panama City, FL. That’s a two- hour drive so we stopped for brunch at Apalachee Restaurant and we did not regret it. We had the buffet and Daniel does not usually like buffets. This one looked good, he said. It tasted excellent. They had peach cobbler and that’s a tie breaker for him. The fried chicken was hot, crispy, moist. The place was clean and comfy. The service was friendly and polite.

The communication with the waitress we had was unbelievable to me. I had 4 kids with me and going down the line of where they were sitting so ended up ordering chicken tenders, then grilled cheese and then wanted to add another chicken tenders so since the grilled cheese was in the middle she wouldn't add it! The kid herself even asked me for the grilled cheese, and the waitress said no and decided to have me take it to go... before bringing us the grilled cheese, she came with the paper to show, "we never ordered the grilled cheese, and it was an 'us' problem." Lastly, they don't say anything about being cash only till paying, this should've been mentioned when walking in, ordering, or even giving us food; but no. Luckily I had barely enough when I came in but rarely do as normally restaurants accept card payments nowadays.

Great little place to stop and eat. Good country fried steak and mashed potatoes. My husband enjoyed his cubed chicken with peppers and onions. Our waitresses were very friendly and attentive.
